Atlanta Curfew Extended For Next 5 Days Amid Protests

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has ordered a citywide curfew for the fifth consecutive night. The curfew continues at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Officials also announced on Twitter curfews issued for Thursday beginning at 9 p.m. and Friday, Saturday and Sunday beginning at 8 p.m. All curfews expire at sunrise.

Exceptions apply to those seeking medical help, working, first responders and the homeless, the city said in the tweet.

MARTA is suspending service starting at 9 p.m. as well.

Atlanta police arrested 258 people over the weekend, and another 95 people were arrested as of 11 p.m. Monday, June 1.
