Sen. Jeff Brandes (R-St. Petersburg) wants COVID-19 liability protections for healthcare facilities.

"It is my priority to ensure liability protections are extended to the healthcare industry this session," said Brandee. "These are people at the front lines of this pandemic who have worked tirelessly to protect residents and patients and we must stand up for them."

Brandes says he has support from colleagues in both the House and Senate. he says the bill will resemble his business liability protection legislation that applies to all other industries. In that bill, an accuser would need a doctor to sign an affidavit saying that there is a good faith belief the business was the cause of the spread of COVID-19 before a claim can be brought.
