The Timucuan Parks Foundation is teaming up with virtual-reality company VR DREAMZto bring Jacksonville’s parks to hospital-bound children.
The pair will launch the plan with a demonstration of the technology next Tuesday evening at the Museum of Science and History.
Appearing Friday morning on WJCT’s First Coast Connect, Foundation Executive Director Mark Middlebrook said the experience will brighten the days of children who have to spend most of their time in sterile hospital rooms.

“The experience they’ll have is not just a computer generated image but it really is about our parks. You know we’re teaming with the national parks and the Florida parks and city parks to put this on,” he said.
The event “Virtual Reality: Bringing Parks To Patients” will be held 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at MOSH.
It will include demonstrations of the virtual reality equipment and explanations on how virtual reality can help patients.
