Buckman Bridge, Airport Road Motorists Face Road Construction Delays

FDOT
Traffic was moving smoothly over the Buckman Bridge around 11 a.m. Friday.

Drivers on the Buckman Bridge will see multi-lane closures for road work this weekend, March 7 and 8, and next, March 14 and 15.

Crews will be narrowing the bridge's existing lanes to add an 8-foot emergency shoulder.

During low traffic times, only one lane of the Buckman Bridge will be open while the re-striping is done and the speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.

Overnight, from Friday into Saturday, two inside lanes will be closed on the Buckman.
On Saturday, single lanes will be closed from 9:30 a.m. until 10 p.m.

The $10 million project, which includes adding safety signage to the bridge, is expected to be completed in the summer of next year.

Airport Road Detour

Drivers using the I-95 Airport Road westbound off-ramp on the Northside will be facing a detour that’s scheduled for Tuesday, March 10, and Wednesday, March 11.

The Airport Road detour is part of an $11 million project that scheduled to be completed in the spring.
