Carnival Announces More Jacksonville Cruise Cancellations

Nov 19, 2020

Carnival Cruise Line is canceling all cruises from Jacksonville through February 28 along with cruises from all U.S. homeports through January 31.

Carnival says it is in the process of planning a gradual, phased reopening of operations next year.

Miami and Port Canaveral are expected to reopen first, followed by Galveston, Texas.

In total, 16 Carnival ships are following the CDC process for an eventual resumption of guest service in the U.S. next year.

"We are committed to meeting the CDC requirements and keeping our guests and business partners informed of our progress," said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.

The 2,056-passenger Carnival Ecstasy normally sails out of the JAXPORT Cruise Terminal in Jacksonville to Freeport and Nassau in the Bahamas.

Customers and travel agents who had booked cruises have already been notified of the most recent cancellations, according to Carnival.
