Florida added fewer than 2,000 new cases of the coronavirus Monday for the first time since mid-June.
At the same time the state is reporting a sharp decrease in the number of tests being administered.
The Florida Department of Health also reported 68 new coronavirus related deaths, bringing the statewide total above 11,300. None of those newly reported deaths were in Northeast Florida.
Clay County saw one of the state’s largest case number increases Monday, with 132 new cases and a single-day positivity rate above 12%, according to WJCT News partner The Florida Times-Union. The county’s average over the past week had been hovering around 7%.
Duval County added 69 new cases, Nassau County 45, St. Johns County 11, Putnam County six and Baker County two.
