As Confederate monuments around Jacksonville start to come down, there’s also a push to change the names of public spaces and schools.

 

 

Jacksonville City Councilman Garrett Dennis has introduced a bill that would change the name of Hemming Park. He joined us with more on that, as well as some other local headlines.

Diversion & Inclusion on Campus

In the wake of the killing of George Floyd, protesters around the world have been calling for police reform and racial justice.

Organizations of all types are doing what they can to meet the moment. Parvez Ahmed is the new Director of Diversity and Inclusion, and also Professor of Finance at the Coggin College of Business at University of North Florida. We spoke with him about what’s happening at UNF to respond to the calls for more diversity on campus.
