COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout; Insurrection Attempt At The U.S. Capitol

Jan 8, 2021

It has been a record-breaking week for new COVID-19 infections in Florida. So far, however, efforts to get vaccines distributed have been confusing and slow.

We discussed these efforts – and the state's next steps - with Jared Moskowitz, the director of Florida's Division of Emergency Management.

We also spoke with Veronica Zaragovia, WLRN’s health care reporter, and WJCT News’ Brendan Rivers, to get a sense of how the vaccine rollout is going in their respective parts of the state.

Attempted Insurrection

Democratic Representative Ted Deutch, who represents South Florida’s 22nd congressional district and is a member of the House Judiciary Committee, joined us later in the program to discuss Wednesday’s violent insurrection attempt at the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, as well the continued fallout from it.
