100 Years Of Hugo’s
In 1921, Albert Hugo, a German-trained decorator skilled at paper hanging, cabinet making, upholstery, and other crafts, arrived by train to Jacksonville. Albert and his wife set up shop in the dock house of Arthur and Ninah Cummer’s English Tudor Revival mansion on Riverside Avenue. Their client base grew from there, and they moved to their present Philips Highway site in 1947. Four generations later the business is still going strong.
