Three Democrats have filed paperwork to try to unseat Republican House members this year in Northeast Florida districts.

Democrat Spyros Theodore Chialtas opened a campaign account this week to run against Rep. Clay Yarborough, R-Jacksonville, in Duval County’s House District 12, according to the state Division of Elections website.

Yarborough had raised $106,000 for his reelection campaign as of April 30, a finance report shows.

Meanwhile in Duval County’s House District 15, Democrat James McGovern opened an account to challenge Rep. Wyman Duggan, R-Jacksonville. Also with an open account for the race is Democrat Tammyette Thomas.

Duggan had raised $110,905 for his campaign as of April 30.

In neighboring St. Johns County, Democrat David Rogers opened an account to run against Rep. Cyndi Stevenson, R-Saint Johns, in House District 17.

Stevenson had raised $83,213 for her reelection bid as of April 30.
