Duval County Public Schools want to hear from parents and guardians about their kids’ experiences.
A survey out now asks about everything from discipline tactics to bus rides.
Duval Schools Assistant Superintendent of Strategic Planning Dana Kriznar said her team wants to know how Duval students are feeling about school.
“Every year we set our goal to have more and more parents and caregivers complete the survey,” she said. “Parents can take the survey for every child that they have at every school that they have students.”
Their answers can influence the district's priorities and change what happens in classrooms.
“One of the items that the parents clearly indicated last year was they really wanted a reduction in the number of assessments that students received, and so we use that information and we drastically cut back on the assessments,” Kriznar said. “And we put it on there again to see if there was improvement or to see if that was an area that we still need to improve.”
The survey, available online through April 18, does not require the name of the parent or guardian and can be accessed on the Duval Schools website. A paper copy can also be requested through the school.
