A study out this week by Blacktower Financial Management Group ranked Florida at the top of the 50 states for retirees in 2020.
Blacktower looked at metrics like the cost of living, crime rate, life expectancy, property prices and population age to come up with the rankings.
Florida's No. 1 ranking was due to its cumulative score, though it failed to rank in the top spot in any of the individual categories, although Blackwater said it "scored well across the board." Blackwater also cited Florida's "warm temperatures, dazzling white beaches and range of outdoor activities," adding, "It's the perfect place to live out your retirement in style."
Hawaii was ranked No. 2, while Alaska came in at the bottom.
