FDLE raids seven Jax internet cafes, makes arrests: The Florida Department of Law Enforcement's Illegal Gaming Task Force raided seven internet cafes in Jacksonville and made arrests in what officials described as a brazen breaking of state gambling laws. (News4Jax)

Meeting between Corey and pastors ends with contention: A meeting scheduled between State Attorney Angela Corey and members of Jacksonville's clergy to address juvenile justice issues wascut short after some arguing between the two parties. (WJCT)

Springfield residents oppose new homeless housing: Several of the more than 100 Springfield neighbors who attended a meeting Thursday night on a new apartment complex for homeless veterans being proposed for the neighborhood spoke out against the project. (WJCT)

JSO Lieutenant reprimanded for handling of Perrywinkle abduction: A civil service board ruled that the three-day suspension of JSO Lt. Rob Schoonover for his role in handling the investigation into the abduction of Cherish Perrywinkle was too harsh, but that he should be reprimanded. (Florida Times-Union)

FSU reportedly under federal investigation in Jameis Winston rape case: USA Today reports that the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights will investigate Florida State for its handling of the Jameis Winston rape allegations. (CBS Sports)

Warning Shot Bill approved: The so-called Warning Shot Bill has been approved by state lawmakers and will not go to Gov. Rick Scott to await his signature. (South Florida Sun Sentinel)

Casino gambling plans dropped for the year: As Florida lawmakers concede that they are abandoning plans to bring resort casinos to the state this legislative session, bills looking at phasing out greyhound racing will be considered. (Tampa Bay Times)

Gator dropped from Gator Bowl, now named TaxSlayer Bowl: The former TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl game will be now called the TaxSlayer Bowl, and will be played on January 2. The game had been played on January 1. (WJCT)
