Gov. Rick Scott has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff Thursday to honor former state Rep. Jim Tullis, a Jacksonville Republican who died Saturday.

Mr. Tullis, 75, served in the House in 1999 and 2000 after a lengthy stint on the Jacksonville City Council, including serving as City Council president.

Scott ordered flags to be flown at half-staff at the state Capitol, the Duval County Courthouse and Jacksonville City Hall.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Episcopal Cathedral in Jacksonville, according to obituary posted on The Florida Times-Union website.
