The Florida State University Athletics Department is joining with the Seminole Boosters to become a Direct Support Organization, or DSO.

The new Florida State University Athletic Association will serve as a private, nonprofit umbrella organization.

But some are raising questions about accountability and transparency. DSOs are excluded from many of the state’s public record laws despite operating within the state university system.
