Jacksonville's One Spark festival kicks off Wednesday and city officials have outlined road closures and parking optionsconnected to the crowd funding festival.
One of the best options is to park at the Prime Osborn Center's Houston Street lot for free and take the Skyway to Hemming Plaza. There is also free parking in Lot E at EverBank Field with a free shuttle heading to the events.
There are also several parking garage locations downtown for a flat fee of $10 per day. Those garages include:
- The Library Garage at 33 W. Duval St.
- Water Street Garage at 541 Water Street
- Yates Garage at 200 E. Adams St.
- Forsyth and Main Lot at the corner of Forsyth St. and Main St.
- Ed Ball Garage at 214 Hogan St.
- Bay and Ocean Lot at 112 E. Bay St.
Several roads will be closed during the event. Laura Street will be closed from the roundabout in front of the Jacksonville Landing to Duval Street from 7 p.m. Tuesday until Sunday at 9 p.m.
Other closings include Duval Street from Hogan Street to Laura Street, Monroe Street from Hogan Street to Main Street and Adams Street from Hogan Street to Main Street
Ocean Street from Adams Street to Bay Street, Bay Street from Newnan Street to Ocean Street and Forsyth from from both Newnan to Ocean and Main to Hogan will be closed as needed between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
The are other events taking place this weekend downtown including a Jacksonville Sharks arena football game, a Jacksonville Suns weekend baseball series and a boat show at Metropolitan Park.
JSO Assistant Chief Leonard Propper said those heading toward the sports complex should avoid
Bay Street and the Main Street Bridge.
"We recommend you take Union Street, MLK, Mathews or the Hart and that will dump you right to the Sports Complex, easy access to all the venues and exits after it's over," he said.
One Spark officially begins at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 9 and runs through 7 p.m. Sunday.
