Group Opposing Kavanaugh Confirmation Visits Marco Rubio's Office

A group of activists opposing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation is sounding off. The group visited the Tallahassee office of Republican Senator Marco Rubio Tuesday.

The group says it believes allegations of sexual assault against Kavanaugh made by Christine Blasey Ford. They want elected officials to vote 'no' on Kavanaugh’s confirmation. Barbara DeVane is president of the Florida Chapter of the National Organization for Women.

"We’re going up to Senator Marco Rubio’s office, to ask him to open his mind and listen to all the evidence," DeVane said. "And listen to the investigation that the FBI is conducting right now."

DeVane ripped Republican Governor Rick Scott for publicly stating he believes Kavanaugh’s claims of innocence. She says her organization is supporting Scott’s competition – incumbent Senator Bill Nelson — in the State senate race.

"My female friends in NOW, we’ve endorsed Bill Nelson because he’s already come out and said ‘no’ to Kavanaugh," DeVane said.

The group wants Rubio to demand a more thorough FBI investigation into the allegations against Kavanaugh.
