The football field at Terry Parker High School in Arlington was awash in music early this morning.Members of high school marching bands from around the country rehearsed there for this afternoon’s Gator Bowl Parade.

Among them was the Gordon Lee Marching Band from Chicamauga, Georgia.

Debbie Frohm, one of the parent volunteers, says the band has performed in a lot of bowl games over the years, but this is their first time coming here.

She is very impressed by Jacksonville.

“It’s an amazing area, especially early in the morning, the sunrise coming over the water is very beautiful,” she said.

Other bands performing in today’s parade and tomorrow’s half-time show have come from as far away as Oregon City, Oregon and Lakeville, Minnesota.
