House Democrats Call For Election Reform

The Florida House Democratic Caucus wants to meet with the Republican Caucus to make plans for fixing what some say is an antiquated election system.

House Minority Leader Rep. Kionne McGhee says until the state makes changes Florida will be the laughing stock of America.

“If our elections system is questionable, then one has to admit that our democracy becomes questionable,” said McGhee.

This comes after the House Democrats held a meeting to discuss changes needed to ensure every vote is counted. During the General Election in November, the Department of State estimates that more than 6,000 mail-in ballots went uncounted because they were postmarked but not received by the 7:00 p.m. deadline.
