A Jacksonville youth soccer club got special recognition Tuesday morning from Gov. Rick Scott and his cabinet.
The JFC Storm girls’ soccer team has won back-to-back national championships.
At the cabinet meeting in St. Augustine, State Attorney General Pam Bondi proposed a resolution honoring the teenagers.
“All of these young women who we’re talking about, they’re making good grades, they’re in school full time, they’re studying every night, and they’re out there participating in sports and they’re doing great things for their community,” Bondi said. “So we’re so proud of all of you.”
This year, the Storm age-16-and-under team took the national title. A couple of the teammates were in St. Augustine to accept the honor.
