People facing eviction can’t be tossed out of their homes until August 1 thanks to a statewide moratorium on evictions. But JEA customers who are behind on their bills could see their electricity and water turned-off starting Thursday, July 9.

For those who hoped to get some financial assistance from the city of Jacksonville to help them pay their overdue bills, the COVID-19 Utility Relief Program issued its last $200 debit card Monday morning.

Ten thousand of the utility relief prepard cards have been claimed.

The city began accepting applications for the prepaid cards on Thursday, July 2.

People who still need help paying their bills are urged to contact JEA online at jea.com/assistance or by phone at 904-665-6000.
