Downtown Jacksonville

There has been a lot of recent discussion and debate over how best to activate Jacksonville’s Downtown waterfront areas.

The Jessie Ball duPont Fund has opted to lend its expertise to the effort by encouraging productive conversations about how to activate it effectively.

They are working on developing a solid plan to bring tourism to the waterfront.  Mari Kuraishi, CEO of the fund; and Claudia Herasme Alfonso, Managing Deputy Commissioner for The Chicago Department of Planning and Development, joined us with their thoughts.

Donate Life Month

April is known as National Donate Life Month, where we celebrate those who have participated in organ donation.  Dr. Juan Leoni, transplant cardiologist at Mayo Clinic  joined us with more.

Introducing Girls to Engineering

UNF is promoting more girls getting into STEM.  The school’s Center for the Advancement of Women in Engineering (CAWE), in collaboration with the Society of Women Engineers, will host a virtual ‘Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day’ event on Zoom this Saturday.  Dr. Alexandra Schonning, UNF Mechanical Engineering Professor and CAWE, shared the details.
