The Jaxson: 2 Remarkable Women In Jacksonville History (With Rhyming Names)

March is Women’s History Month.

Jacksonville’s piece of that history includes two notable women who lived here at the turn of the last century — and who happen to have rhyming names.

In this week's Jaxson on WJCT segment, Modern Cities’ Kelsi Hasden tells WJCT News Director Jessica Palombo about the similarities — and major differences — between white New Englander Cora Crane and African-American novelist and folklorist Zora Neale Hurston.

Both women led incredibly rich lives, particularly during times when women’s roles were proscribed and their freedoms limited.
