The Jacksonville Transportation Authority has scheduled three additional community open houses next week to explain a fare-hike proposal and get input from the public.
The plan calls for raising fares on buses and the St. Johns River Ferry which JTA CFO Greg Hayes has said will affect a majority of riders.
The newly added public meetings are:
Tuesday, June 18
FSCJ Kent Campus, Room No. E104
3939 Roosevelt Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205
Wednesday, June 19
FSCJ South Campus, Room No. U135A
11901 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32246
Thursday, June 20
Avenues Walk Park-n-Ride Center
10508 Avenues Walk Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32256
All meetings are scheduled for 5:30 p.m – 7:30 p.m.
Those are in addition to the previously scheduled meetings this week and next:

- Regency Square Branch Library, 9900 Regency Square Boulevard: 4 p.m.- 6 p.m.
- Thursday, June 13:
- FSCJ Downtown Campus, 501 W. State Street: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 5 p.m.- 7 p.m.
- Friday, June 14:
- Regency Square Branch Library, 9900 Regency Square Boulevard: 10:30 a.m. - noon
The public is also invited to weigh in on the proposed fare hikes via this survey. The Authority’s Board of Directors has yet to schedule a vote on the issue.
