She’s on the Land Use and Zoning Committee and Rules Committee. Former Gov. Rick Scott appointed Pittman on July 12, 2018, to serve the remainder of suspended Councilwoman Katrina Brown’s term.

Pittman is CEO and president of the nonprofit Clara White Mission, which provides social and professional services to the city’s homeless.

Pittman did not respond to invitations to be interviewed by WJCT News in advance of the May 14 runoff election.

Holly, a community activist and consultant, grew up District 8 and is president of Tamika Gaines Holly Consulting and serves as a volunteer CEO of Transforming Communities, a community revitalization organization in Northwest Jacksonville.
