The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp’s season opener is tonight, May 4, at 1211 Financial Ballpark in Downtown Jacksonville, the first game of a 6-game homestand against the Norfolk Tides.
This will be the first time in more than a year-and-a-half that the Shrimp will take the field.
It also marks the minor league team’s first appearance as the Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins.
The gates open at 6 and the first pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
Tuesday night’s season opener will be followed by fireworks.
