Local Restaurant Owners Sued In Federal Court For Wage Violations

News4jax

A federal lawsuit against a local restaurant is shining a light on a larger issue — exploited and often undocumented workers in our state and around the country.

The federal government has filed suit against the owners of two La Nopalera restaurants in Jacksonville, claiming the owners didn’t pay their workers minimum wage.

This is the second time the local eateries have faced a federal lawsuit over labor issues.

But they’re far from the only establishment or business in our area who’s run afoul of the law over this type of matter.

Jacksonville labor and employment attorney Tom Harper joined Melissa Ross to discuss the issues surrounding this latest case.
