The First Coast is recovering from Tropical Storm Elsa. Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry joined us to share an update on how the city is doing post-storm, and discuss his pick for the city’s first Chief Resiliency Officer.

Delta Variant

COVID cases and hospitalizations have hiked back up again, thanks to the spread of the highly-contagious Delta variant. According to medical professionals, many of those getting sick right now have not been vaccinated.  Dr. Sunil Joshi, president of the Duval County Medical Society Foundation, joined us for a further look into the rising variant.  

Public Art

Orlando Artist Jefre Manuel has built a global reputation for creating dynamic, distinctive public art installations that have become icons for their cities.  He’s part of a local design competition for the Jacksonville riverfront and has submitted a $12 million art design that could become a signature piece on the riverfront.  He spoke with us about his art and the benefits of public art in major cities.  

Jax Natural Healing Center

The new Jax Natural Healing Center is opening in San Marco on Monday. It will offer a wide variety of natural healing methods presented in both English and Spanish. Alejandra Amegin is the center's owner. She joined us with details.  

Christmas In July

The Salvation Army is holding a Christmas in July Red Kettle event this weekend. Northeast Florida Major Keath Biggers joined us with more on that, as well as some other newsworthy notes.
