A new study by researchers from Johns Hopkins University and the University of Texas in Austin ranks the 25 counties in the nation most at risk for measles.  Miami-Dade County is listed as the third most vulnerable and Broward County as the seventh. Dr. Lauren Gardner, an associate professor of civil engineering at Johns Hopkins University and one of the authors of the report,  joined Sundial to explain why South Florida is at such high risk. The study also developed a map showing the counties with the greatest risk for measles to spread.

A new law in Florida is likely to make texting while driving a primary offense. The bill, just passed by the legislature and waiting for the governor's approval, allows police officers to pull over cars if the driver is texting, which is something that they can’t do now. If implemented, it would go into effect in the state on July 1. Representative Emily Slosberg, D- Palm Beach, is one of the authors of the bill and joined Sundial to talk about why state legislators decided to take action against texting while driving.

South Florida author and columnist Dave Barry wants to be more like his dog Lucy. She’s a big and black with white circles around her eyes and as Dave Barry describes in his newest book, “Lessons From Lucy: The Simple Joys of an Old, Happy Dog,” she’s kind of the life of the party. Dave Barry joined Sundial to talk about a few of Lucy’s life teachings: making new friends, don’t stop having fun and letting go of anger.
