The Miami Herald's “The Influencer Series” is an effort launched by the newspaper in 2018 to engage Florida leaders and readers with some of the most pressing policy issues in the Sunshine State. This year Miami Herald spoke with 50 of the top so-called "influencers" from across the state. Kristin Roberts is the editor running The Influencer Series and joined Sundial to talk about how the project aims to identify solutions to the policy problems Floridians care most about.Listen to today's full show.

The United States Coast Guard is cracking down on illegal charters, boats that are not following the guidelines required by the Coast Guard. This past weekend the Coast Guard and the Bal Harbour Police Department charged three charters near the Ultra Music Festival major fines for not having a certificate of inspection or a proper drug and alcohol license. Lieutenant Jorge Santiago is a marine investigator with the United States Coast Guard Miami sector and joined Sundial.

The Museum of Art and Design in Miami is hosting a series of talks called “SUPERFLEX: We Are All in the Same Boat Miamians,” that looks at how climate change, gentrification and corruption intersect. Mariana Boldu is Landscape Architect and Director of Resilience at Design at Curtis + Rogers Design Studio and Board Member of the City of Miami Sea Level Rise Committee. Timothy A. Barber is the Executive Director of The Black Archives in Overtown and a member of the City of Miami Historic and Environmental Preservation Board. They were both panelists at the museum and joined Sundial to talk about the importance of community involvement.

Each year an estimated $104 billion is generated from agriculture in Florida. It is a key part of Florida’s economy, but nationwide, the agriculture industry is aging out. The average age of farmers is now 58-years old. The 68th Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition is wrapping up this weekend after training the future generation of farmers. Eddie Cora, president of the fair, joined Sundial to talk about what the fair teaches students about the region's agriculture industry.
