NE Florida School Districts Make Sure No Child Goes Hungry During Summer Vacation

The Summer Food Service Program is underway for children in Duval, Clay and St. Johns counties.

The federally sponsored initiative is designed to bridge the nutrition gap many needy children experience during the summer months when they’re not eating at school.

Free meals will be served to any child 18 years old or younger who comes to one of the program’s feeding sites which are located in neighborhoods where at least 50 percent of the children qualify for free or reduced lunch during the school year.
