No Plans? No Problem. Here Are 10 Things To Do In The Jacksonville Area.

1) Friday May 31 - One Performance Only -  The Rascals are back together again for the first time in 40 years in the critically acclaimed, Broadway show The Rascals: Once Upon A Dream at the Times-Union Center. The show features original band members Felix Cavaliere, Eddie Brigati, Dino Danelli & Gene Cornish.

2) Friday May 31-Saturday June 8 - Many local high schools will be holding their graduation ceremonies at the Veterans Memorial Arena. Visit their page for a full list of schools.

3)   Saturday June 1 - Jazz Saxophonist Walter Beasley at the Ritz Theatre, 7:00 and 10:00pm. Tickets $25, on sale now at the Ritz Box Office and Ticketmaster.com. Call 904-632-5555 for more info.

4) Saturday June 1 - Lillie's Cool Jazz Weekends. Lillie’s Coffee Bar 7:30-9:30 pm, rain or shine. This event will be held in the Courtyard, weather permitting, or inside the Coffee Bar.

5) Saturday June 1 - Jacksonville Sharks vs. Pittsburgh at the Veterans Memorial Arena. The Jacksonville Sharks are members of the Arena Football League (AFL).

6) Sunday June 2 - Jacksonville Suns vs. Mobile Baybears at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Suns are the minor league Class AA affiliate of the Florida Marlins. The Suns are proud members and five-time champions of the 10-team Southern League of Professional Baseball

7) Now-September - The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens Future Retro: The Great Age of the American Automobile. This exhibition, comprised mainly of drawings from the collection of Frederick A. Sharf, showcases the beauty and ingenuity of American automotive design during the decades following World War II, a landmark period in car styling. An eclectic mix of illustrations, from preliminary sketches to fully rendered works, provides a rare glimpse into the creative process at some of America’s premiere car companies. Dating from an era when speed and power were increasingly important factors in automotive sales, these drawings show reference to the emerging technologies that influenced postwar car design, like airplanes and rockets. A selection of classic American cars will also be highlighted.

8) Sunday June 2 - Music for Oklahoma at Mavericks in the Jacksonville Landing. Local Jacksonville country band Shotgun Redd has teamed up with Mavericks to host a benefit concert to raise money and donations for victims affected by the recent storms in Oklahoma.

9) Saturday June 1 - Cesar Millan at the Times-Union Center. The world’s most renowned dog behavior specialist, Cesar Millan, will share his secrets on how to transform dogs and their owners in this unique and new live event that has wowed audiences across the US, UK, Canada, and Europe.  Fans and dog lovers alike will be inspired by the simplicity of “Cesar’s Way” as he reveals that the secret to happier, healthier relationships between humans and their canine companions starts with transforming ourselves. 10) Friday May 31 - MOSH Planetarium Cosmic Concerts. Experience total-sensory entertainment as laser lights, high-def images and digital sound collide to create a Cosmic Concert! Starting at 7:00pm, enjoy shows including a range of music from The Beach Boys to Metallica.
