Comedy, Congress and a water party are some of the events happening this weekend on the First Coast.Saturday, July 12 – Jacksonville's CoRK Arts District presents Summer Splash, a "BYO squirt guns, water baloons and towels" outdoor water party. There will be food and drink, live music and painting. The show is an opportunity for CoRK East to open its doors to the public and showcase their recently updated mix of artists and creators. Saturday, July 12 – Oscar winner and Queen of Comedy Mo'Nique headlines a bill that includes Gary Owen, Charlie Murphy and Arnez J. for So Freakin' Funny: Act 1. DJ Dr. Doom will spin between sets and the night is hosted by Jacksonville's own Terry T. Harris. Proceeds to benefit The Kidz Foundation "House of Hope" project. More info at JaxEvents.com.

Saturday, July 12 – The Florida Theatre will host a screening of the "Best Of" the 48 Hour Film Project, Saturday night at 7 p.m. More info at FloridaTheatre.com.

Sunday, July 13 – Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown and Congresswoman Corrine Brown invite you to a reception honoring Congressman James E. Clyburn on the occasion of the the release of his book Blessed Experiences. Event starts at 4 p.m., more info at JaxEvents.com.
