This is Not An Invasion But It Is A Halloween Tradition

In 1938 a live radio play directed and narrated by actor and filmmaker Orson Welles was so realistic that it scared some listeners into believing the world was being invaded by aliens from Mars.

Based on the novel by H.G. Wells,’ War of the Worlds became famous after causing some to panic.

Here at WJCT the radio play has become a tradition. We play it each year on Halloween night because who doesn’t like a good scare?

You can listen to it Thursday, October 31 at 9 p.m. on 89.9 FM or stream it here on wjct.org.
