Opening Of JTB-I-95 Flyover Ramp Delayed; Was Set For Wednesday

Florida Department of Transportation
Gov. Rick Scott attends the ribbon cutting for the new I-95 ramp on Aug. 30, 2017.

The planned opening of the I-95 flyover ramp at J-Turner Butler Boulevard on Jacksonville’s Southside is being delayed.

Governor Rick Scott last week announced the ramp was set to open tomorrow (Wednesday), but a delay in the road striping process is keeping it from opening on time.

A news release from the Florida Department of Transportation says the opening is now set for later in the week, depending on possible impacts from Hurricane Irma.

The ramp will allow drivers on I-95 South who need to turn east on J-T-B to avoid waiting at a traffic light.
