One local Tallahassee business has been recognized by the Agency for Persons with Disabilities as an exceptional employer. The award was given to 12 businesses around Florida that hire and retain those with disabilities.

Customers at Paisley Café in Midtown are greeted by Kevin Graham, which the business calls its “host with the most.” Graham has autism and has worked at the restaurant for the past two years.

Paisley operating partner Jeri Madden says Graham has what she calls “all the qualities that you would want in a worker.”

Two statewide chains, Firehouse Subs and Lucky’s Market, also were honored with the APD’s award. October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
