Thousands of Cubans have protesting food shortages and high prices amid the coronavirus crisis, in one of biggest anti-government moments in memory.
They took to the streets Sunday in the communist island nation showing that they’re willing to risk their lives to protest against President Miguel Diaz-Canel’s communist dictatorship. A protest in Downtown Jacksonville also took place over the weekend weekend in solidarity with Cuba. Chad Dominics, President and General Manager of Tu18jax TV, and Mario DeCunto, past chair of the Mayor's Hispanic American Advisory Board joined us with their take.
Political Divides With The Delaneys
As the years go by we seem to be drawn closer into a polarized political era, so much so that disagreements these days lead to family feuds. The Pew Research Center reports that political polarization is more intense now than at any point in modern history.
However, the Delaney family tries to break that mold. We sat with former Jacksonville mayor, former UNF president and current Flagler College Interim President John Delaney, and his son, Bill Delaney, who is an editor at The Jaxson. They gave us a peek into a conversation on voting rights between a conservative father and a progressive son.

First Coast author and professor Tim Gilmore joined us for a talk about his newest book, Murder Capital. The book explores Jacksonville's violent history and past. He will speak about the book Thursday at the Jacksonville Historical Society.
