Social Services Fair, Food Giveaway Friday Morning In Jacksonville

Lutheran Social Services

Low-income Jacksonville residents are invited to get free food and learn about social services Friday morning.

Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida is hosting the resource fair at its headquarters just south of downtown at 4615 Philips Hwy.

LSS Human Services Director Heather Vaughan says there’s an incentive for people to show up at the 9:30 start time Friday morning.

“We have food available to the first 400 individuals that arrive. They’ll get a free grocery bag of fresh, nutritious food from farm share,” she said.

The resource fair lasts until noon, with free HIV testing, legal aid consultations, health screenings and more.  And for attendees sticking around until noon, a free lunch will be served then.
