Southeastern Grocers Donates $461.9K To 8 Children's Hospitals, Including Wolfson's

The Jacksonville-based parent company of Winn-Dixie and Harveys, along with its customers and employees, are donating more than $461,900 to eight children’s hospitals across the Southeast.

Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville is receiving $147,236.

“We are tremendously proud to be part of a community of associates, customers and partners that care passionately about our neighbors in need. It is because of their kindness and generosity that we are able to support our local children’s hospitals with a donation that will truly make a difference and offer hope to families going through trying times,” said Anthony Hucker, president and CEO of Southern Grocers, in an email sent to WJCT News.

The donations will be used to support the hospitals' pediatric specialties, family centered support, therapeutic activities, research, child advocacy and other programs.

The other hospitals receiving donations are:

  • Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children – Orlando
  • Children’s of Alabama – Birmingham, Alabama
  • Children’s of Mississippi – Gulfport, Mississippi
  • Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida – Fort Myers
  • Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital – St. Petersburg
  • Nicklaus Children’s Hospital – Miami
  • Studer Family Children’s Hospital – Pensacola
