Sports Events Expected To Snarl Downtown Traffic Saturday Night

JAXSUNS.COM

Between the Jaguars, the Sharks and the Suns, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office recommends you give yourself plenty of time to get where you’re going Saturday night.

The Jaguars Back-to-Football Fest starts at 4:00 in the Fan Entertainment Zone at EverBank Field. That's followed by a scrimmage game at 6:45.

Down the street at Veterans Memorial Arena, the Jacksonville Sharks kick-off their post-season against the Tampa Bay Storm. Game time is 7:00.

And, around the corner at the Jacksonville Baseball Grounds, it’s the Suns and the Tennessee Smokies.  First pitch is at 7:05.

A. Philip Randolph Boulevard will be closed between Adams and Duval Streets. Pre-game traffic patterns are set to begin at 4:00 in the afternoon.

To help ease the expected traffic mayhem caused by the large crowds, the JSO says the Matthews Bridge will be open 5:00-11:00 Saturday night.

Other downtown Jacksonville events include Community First Saturdays, the Bold City 5-K run and the Girls Rock Jacksonville Showcase at the Florida Theatre.
