The Sprouts Farmers Market at 4873 Town Center Parkway will open July 10.

Residents in the St. Johns Town Center area are now less than two weeks away from having a new supermarket option.

Sprouts Farmers Market will open its first Jacksonville store on Wednesday, July 10, at 7 a.m. at 4873 Town Center Parkway.

Sprouts has been renovating the former Best Buy, which moved across the street. It will be the third supermarket within a one-and-a-half mile radius.

Publix was the first supermarket to open in the fast-growing area. It’s located at 4413 Town Center Parkway. Across the street, Aldi soon followed with a supermarket at 4444 Town Center Parkway.

Sprouts, which is based in Phoenix, started in 2002. It specializes in fresh, organic food choices. According to the company’s website, it doesn’t sell things like sodas, snacks and candy.

WJCT News partner the Jacksonville Daily Record reports the first 200 shoppers on July 10 will receive 20% off their initial total purchase. Muffin and coffee samples will be served to everyone in line before the doors open. All customers on July 10 will receive one free reusable bag with a purchase.
