Survivor of Bosnia War To Speak at FSCJ

Florida State College at Jacksonville’s eighth annual author series will feature KenanTrebincevic, author of the memoir “The Bosnia List,” on Thursday.

Lectures will be held at 11 a.m. in room D-120 of the FSCJ Kent Campus, and at 7 p.m. at the Nathan H. Wilson Center.

Both lectures are free and open to the public.

The book, published in 2014 and co-authored by journalist Susan Shapiro, is a memoir of war, exile and return.

Trebincevic details leaving Bosnian at age 12, immigrating to the U.S. in 1993 and becoming

A citizen in 2001.

Today, he works as a physical therapist in Greenwich Village, Connecticut, and lives in New York City.

Claudia Garcia is a student at Florida State College at Jacksonville. Originally from Colombia, she comes to Jacksonville after living and working in France and Brazil. She is fluent in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and American Sign Language and once worked as a translator at the American embassy in Brazil.
