Cindy Yang, the former owner of an Asian day spa and massage parlor called “Orchids of Asia,” participated in a fundraiser for President Donald J. Trump back in 2017. According to the Miami Herald, Yang’s spa is where Patriots owner Robert Kraft was arrested for soliciting prostitution. The investigation found Yang owns a number of South Florida spas where prostitution has reportedly taken place. Miami Herald’s Sarah Blaskey has been following the story and joined Sundial to breakdown the details of the investigation

Nouman Raja’s guilty conviction of manslaughter by a jury in Palm Beach County last week was the first time in three decades that an on-duty officer in Florida has been found guilty OF WHAT? EXPLAIN. University of Miami Law Professor Donald M. Jones has been following this case closely for years and joined Luis Hernandez on Sundial to talk about the historical context of this ruling and what it could mean for future officer involved shootings.

History Miami has a new exhibition chronicling Miami’s past LGBTQ leaders and queer history called,“Queer Miami.” It illustrates stories of Miami’s resilience and coalition building among the LGBTQ community. Julio Capó Jr, Associate Professor of History at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and author of the book: “Welcome to Fairyland: Queer Miami before 1940” curated the exhibit. Capó joined Sundial to talk about some key moments of Miami’s queer history.

A new memoir “The Burn Zone” tells the incredible true story of Ft. Lauderdale native, Renee Linnell who was lured into a cult, spent tens of thousands of dollars within the organization and eventually escape. After Linnell lost her mother and father she sought recovery from the organization, the University of Mysticism and fell into a much deeper whole. Linnell joined Sundial to talk about her book and journey to a much safer recovery.
