Jacksonville area Winn-Dixie shoppers can now order groceries online and have them delivered straight to their door.

Uber and Jacksonville-based Southeastern Grocers (SEG) announced the new service Wednesday, which marks Uber’s first major grocery retailer partnership in Florida.

“Uber believes that people should be able to get to the places they need to go, grab food from their favorite local restaurants, and get daily essentials with the tap of a button,” said Raj Beri, Uber’s global head of grocery, in an email to WJCT News.

Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando and Tampa are the first Florida markets for the new service.

“Our customers and communities count on us to adapt quickly to their shifting needs, and right now they need easy and safe access to their groceries more than ever before," said Adam Kirk, Senior Vice President of Marketing for SEG.

The service is available through the Uber and Uber Eats websites and apps.
