As Jacksonville works on plans to reopen its economy, the economic fallout continues growing.
Some businesses won’t survive, while others will adapt and new ones may spring up to meet previously unknown needs.
Karen Bowling is the director of the University of North Florida’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Downtown Jacksonville.

The center offers a year-long program for people who need help turning a great idea into a viable business. Bowling expects to see a lot more interest in what the center has to offer.
“What I really think we're likely to see is more people starting their own companies - that they can't get a job, you know, they'll start their own because I think there's a lot more support for that in Jacksonville now. And I think a lot of ideas will be born out of this crisis,” she said.
Bowling said she’s learned a lot in the first year the center’s been operating. She thinks there’ll be room for even more entrepreneurs and innovators next year.
