The intersection of County Road 220 West and State Road 21 in Clay County will reopen in its new configuration on Friday, April 9.
It’s part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s $19.1 million State Road 21 widening project between Long Bay Road and Allie Murray Road.
Construction on the project began in January 2019.
State Road 21 is being widened from four lanes to six lanes between Long Bay Road and Allie Murray Road.
Four-foot wide bike lanes in both directions are being added along with 6-foot wide sidewalks in both directions.
The project also includes replacement of traffic signals and street lights, construction of a new drainage system and realignment of the intersections at Long Bay Road and County Road 220 Access Road.
The overall project is expected to be finished in late 2021.
