The United States Postal Service is commemorating the historic Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine with a new stamp.
The Priority Mail stamp costs $7.95 and is available at post offices across the country. It features a stylized image of the northeast corner of the building.
The St. Augustine attraction was constructed in the 17th century and is the oldest masonry fort in the U.S.
Speaking to the St. Augustine Record, National Parks Service chief of interpretation and education for the site, Steven Roberts, said the USPS “did their homework” to represent the site accurately. "So it's nice to be able to see it come to fruition," Roberts said.
