“The Vietnam War” is a new, multi-part documentary film from Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, and it debuted this week on WJCT Public Television.

At the same time, on 89.9 WJCT-FM, we’re bringing you stories of Vietnam veterans with ties to the First Coast. Their interviews were recorded and produced at WJCT Studios as part of the Community Hospice Veterans History Project.

First up: retired Sgt. Maj. John Page, from Callahan. He served from 1965 to 2005.

Next we heard from retired Army Capt. Ralph Sevelius, who lives in Jacksonville. He served from 1967 to 1970.

Last in our series was retired Maj. David Osbeck, who lives in Orange Park. He served from 1968 to 1995.

“The Vietnam War” continues airing nightly on WJCT Public Television Sunday, Sept. 24, through Thurs., Sept. 28 at 8 p.m.
