Warrant Service Officer Program, DeSantis Goes To Israel, Scootermania & 'Prime Time' Musical

Ten Florida counties have adopted the Warrant Service Officer program (WSO), which allows for deputies of sheriff departments across the state to work with federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to detain undocumented immigrants. Ana Ceballos, reporter for the News Service of Florida, joined Sundial to explain how the relationship between sheriff deputies and ICE agents work.

Governor Ron DeSantis has a trip planned to Israel this weekend where he, along with a delegation of a hundred lawmakers, lobbyists and business leaders, will meet with Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu. Ana Ceballos, News Service of Florida reporter has been following the story. Ceballos and Ilene Prusher, a professor of journalism at Florida Atlantic University who’s spent much of her career covering stories in Israel, joined Sundial to explain why a meeting is being held more than 6,000 miles from the Florida capital.

The city of Miami recently launched a pilot program allowing for electric scooters in District 2, which extends from Coconut Grove to Morningside. Electric scooters have already been in place in other areas in South Florida.  Carlos Nevarez, operations manager for the scooter company Lime in Miami, joined Sundial to talk about safety concerns regarding scooters.

The new musical “Prime Time,” shows the ins and outs of television production during the 1960s and 70s through they eyes of a female TV executive. One of the musical’s writers is Blake Hunter,  television producer and writer known for his work as co-creator of “Who’s the Boss.” The musical opened on Wednesday night at the Studios of Key West and will be running for 10 days. Hunter and the musical’s director Murphy Davis joined Sundial to talk about what television meant to people growing up in the 70s.
