We Learn About A Marijuana Education Program At FGCU

Smoke signals rising fromFlorida Gulf Coast Universitygot local attention last semester when it offered a class called, “Weed: The impact of marijuana on American life.” The class was filled with students, but they weren’t the only ones who were interested by the topic ofcannabis,and the way it has impacted our culture.

One of the professors who taught that class,Dr. Martha Rosenthal, who also specializes in neuroscience and physiology, is offering a five-day Cannabis Education Certificate Program which is open to the public. The Cannabis Education Certificate is available for those, in and out of the medical marijuana industry, who want to learn more about the topic of cannabis.Dr. Rosenthaljoins us in the studio to give us a preview of the program.

Julie Glenn is the host of Gulf Coast Live. She has been working in southwest Florida as a freelance writer since 2007, most recently as a regular columnist for the Naples Daily News. She began her broadcasting career in 1993 as a reporter/anchor/producer for a local CBS affiliate in Quincy, Illinois.
